I got a new telephoto lens for my camera last week, and I spent the weekend up in the subalpine slopes of E.C. Manning Provincial Park (BCParks (http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/ecmanning/), wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manning_Park)). Despite the cold nights it turned out to be a fantastic trip.
Rather than posting the photos here on thebigview, I figured it'd just be a whole lot easier to provide a link to my public Picasa web albums (http://picasaweb.google.ca/jaynewland/ECManningProvincialPark?feat=directlink). Feel free to browse around and enjoy!

Beautiful!
Such beauty is limited down here, unless of course you like the desert (which I know a lot of people do), but I never was a fan having been born and raised in it.
I have a friend who is a very talented photographer and actually makes this place look halfway decent! I'll ask him if he'd be willing to link up his pictures and we can maybe start a photography thread. I love seeing pictures; keep em' coming!

I used to think the desert was a dead place til I went out to Vegas & saw the surrounding desert. It's really very much alive, just different kinds of vegetation.
