View Full Version : Should I Stay Here?

I have come to realize that, once again, I need a change, though I consider it more of a return, in my spiritual views. I see now that, despite my attempts to use my method of intentionally finding a way for it to be wrong, Christianity cannot possibly be wrong. There is simply no way for it to be. People often misunderstand it, and there may have been abuses of it by later Christians, and it may be complex, but that doesn't make it untrue. I certainly do not understand or know it entirely or perfectly, but I have thought about any way for it to be wrong, and I simply cannot find one. Furthermore, I am continuously drawn through feeling towards it, especially Jesus, unlike any other truth conveyed in the world. Thus, I cannot help, nor do I want to, conclude any differently than that the Bible is true, and that I believe it to be true.
My question is: because of my continuously-changing nature, even if from here on it does not change anymore, and from me now being a Christian, should I stay or leave thebigview? I would really like the opinion of those here. If I left, there would be no animosity, from me at least, though I would probably rather not.

What does being Christian (or upholding any belief for that matter) have to do with your attendance on this forum?

I agree with Akamu's question: you may be ambivalent when it comes to Christianity, but what does that have to do with your presence on the forums? Whether you decide to be Christian or not, if you enjoy discussing things on the forum you should stay. If you don't, then leave. :)

Actually I moreso meant me having a tendency to change, which I doubt I will again, but me now becoming Christian is one more change of mine I wonder if the people here can accept.

Hi scameter, I chose other meaning stay or leave, but don't feel bound by either. How about drop in, but don't drop out? Yes, that's what I mean.

Thank you. :) Though, honestly, I've come to realize that I change how I think way too often to make any real claims to my beliefs. So, from now on, I won't say definitely what religion, philosophy, or otherwise that I ascribe to at the moment. I'll just post views.

Oh I hope you change your mind on that, scam. The fact that you change how you think only means that you are actually thinking and not taking things at face value. Many people will take the easy road and accept something as true, and that's where their beliefs stay (closed minded) all there lives. Thank heaven for the people who search for answers and change the way they think!(Open minded)

Cute schrodinger. :P But, aviatrix, I didn't mean I'd stop changing how I think about things. I just meant I won't specifically tell everyone every time I do. It just seems to give confusion.

Well, don't stop writing your questions and feelings of confusion all together, ok? You never know when someone might say the one thing that really hits home, and clears up the waters.

Seriously, one of these days it could even be schrodinger!

That is indeed my main motivation for using philosophy forums such as these, both to learn something and in the hopes of schrodinger being the one who teaches me! :P

I doubt I am qualified for that task, scam. But if I can get you to laugh at yourself once in a while, and not take life so seriously, I would call that a good start in the right direction. :)

Oh my yes schrodinger! I, for one, think we should all take ourselves a little less seriously sometimes. Laughter just feels so good, and it's contagious so I don't mind catching it!
Scam, I know I heard a bit of a laugh in that last post of yours, and I must say it sounds very good on you! :grouphug:

You act as if I never laugh. I laugh all the time, though I don't really come to a serious discussion forum for constant laughs. And schrodinger, I have never seen you laugh on here, so it's a bit hard for you to tell me to. :P

I just wanted to say :loveyou: Now, let's be serious, ok? Sonrisa, that includes you!

Oh Dear, one last :goodlaugh:. Okay, it's out of my system now, sorry.
