I have no idea where this topic goes, but I thought I'd try here. Does anyone else have a number? If you do, what does it mean? Okay, here goes: A few years ago I started noticing that I'd see the number 222 so I kind of adopted it as my number. This year I've noticed it nearly everywhere. The time, addresses, phone numbers, the price that rings up when I buy something, billboards, maps, menus, TV, license plates, well you get the idea. Keep in mind that I'm not staring at the clock all day, or reading everyones license plate, or looking at every address, so it just pops up seemingly everywhere. So I finally decided that this would be the date I'd die. February 22, what year, I don't know. I told some people I work with this and they thought it might be the year I die, 2022. I'm pretty convinced it's the month and date. The fact that I see it so often now, makes me wonder if that means it's soon. I'm not being morbid here, so don't take it that way. I'm just tossing it out there to see if anyone else has a number, and what it means to them.

I don't really believe in numerology of that sort, such as expressed in the movie 23 with Jim Carray. I think that anything can be deduced when we look for it specifically. I could probably find the number 137 in anything. However, another important thing with this is that not *everything* has one specific number, no matter how hard we look for it. For instance, trying to find 23 in the name Stalin. It is six letters. 23 is not a multiple of 6, and there is almost no other way of doing it with that. Thus, Stalin has nothing to do with the number 23.

Stalin has 6 letters in it...2 x 3 = 6....23! :D Obviously my post has no point to it other than to demonstrate that if you stretch things far enough, you can see/deduce whatever it is you are looking for.
To the original poster: I can't say one way or another whether your experiences with the number 222 are of any consequence or not. However, what I do know about the human mind is that it tends to remember the uncanny and forgo the uninteresting. If at some point in your history you 'adopted' 222 as your number, then you will of course notice every time it pops up in your life. What one fails to realize is how often they see other numbers repeatedly without noticing. I think this all falls under the same psychological category as someone putting forth the statements: "every time I have a date, I have a bad hair day!" or "it ALWAYS rains when I make plans for a day outdoors!" Obviously these are drastic over generalizations. The mind only cares to recall the irony surrounding these events and does not take into account every case in which they did not occur.
But like I said, I've no idea of what really goes on out there. If you really do happen to only be mindful of that number when it surfaces, then perhaps theres a reason for it.

You have made the number 222 meaningful for you. Just as many people have made the flag meaningful to them. They will fight, die, and kill when that piece of cloth is burned.
We are meaning creating creatures. Most of the things that we hold dear enough to kill and die for are abstract ideas. Your number has become that Big Magic for you.

I'd play 222 in the Lotto, if I were you! In fact, I think I will play it myself! You can expect a big pay back if it hits ( I promise ) :)

I've heard of this before, though I've never experienced it myself. Maybe it's just the people I know, but I think it seems to happen with double digits; for example I knew somebody who kept seeing "11" crop up everywhere.
I have no idea what any of this might mean, but Schrodinger's advice can't hurt, right? ;)

Um, Big Magic has to be a bit more than a number to me. Thanks for the thought though!

Schrodinger, I'm holding you to this promise! Whoo hoo, I've got my fingers crossed!

Well Sonrisa, if you think so, ok, between schrodinger and myself it will double the chances of winning!
Leave it to you sonrisa...
I'll probably play the number 222 on 2/22 and WIN, then fall into the Ohio River which will be flooded on that day (it's only about a mile away), and drown! Sheesh! :shakehead:
Thank you to everyone else that gave me some insight into this crazy number thing! :loveyou:

hey Aviatrix, I happened to see the River today. It was swallowing up some low lying trees. Granted, it still has a little ways to go before it spills, but it's definitely on the rise....

I get 1111 all the time on clocks, but that's probably just sub-conscious conditioning of some sort

Oh Sonrisa! How sweet of you to notice! Here I was worried that daggone river was going to sneak up on me, swallowing me right after I won the lottery on 2/22, but now I know you're keeping an eye on it for me I should be fine.
I think I'm going to buy the ticket at 12:22 am, 12:22 pm, 2:22 am and 2:22 pm, just to cover all my bases! No, wait... My luck I'd be out at 2:22 am, not see the river in the dark, or I could get mugged, or.... :twoguns:
Am I going to get in trouble for writing this frivolous stuff? :(
