The beauty of a tree and the stature of a person are up in the air for all to see.
The roots of a tree and the motives of a person are hidden.

Ah, but if a person falls over in a field, and no trees are present, does the person make a sound?
More seriously, beauty is subjective, so some may disagree with you, depending of course on how difinitive beauty is. For example, some may see what is widely regarded as ugly, as beautiful. However others may see what is widely regarded as beautiful, as ugly. So for me, your statement is open to interpretation.
Was that your intention?

Beauty is subjective. And even if you see the tree is ugly, the ugliness is there for you to see.
Or my favorite way to say it is that things really are beautiful and ugly in an objective way. Sometimes people are attracted to beauty and sometimes people are attracted to ugliness.
So beauty is subjective. And so is stature. That was my intention.
And I would never say something that was not open to interpretation. If it is not at all open, then everyone must already understand the same and there would be nothing to communicate.

The roots of a tree and the motives of a person are hidden.
And just as the depth of a tree's roots determine the overall shape that tree will take, so too do a person's motives determine their direction in life. The visible is simply an outgrowth of the invisible.
