Whatever you do there is always something back in your mind that needs to be done next. There is a thought that hangs in the air and bothers you whatever you do. You never have a clear focused mind that acts moment to moment. Mind always calculates. It is the greatest calculator ever invented. And mind can’t act moment to moment because to act moment to moment mind has to be dissolved.

There is always something else which is bothering you while you’re living your everyday ordinary life. While you sitting in the office you are thinking about your home and what you have to do about it and when you are at your home you think about your office and what you have to do about it. When you are far away you’re thinking about your children and when you’re with your children you’re thinking about remote places that you wish to visit.

You always like to solve problems because you can’t live without them. The truth is that in reality there are no problems. The existence IS without problems. Only you create problems. Really if you think of it your activity creates problems. Even your thinking creates problems, tension and conflicts. You’re like a mouse in butter. The more you struggle, the more you sink into your problems. So while you’re doing something there is another, different problem that hangs around you and needs your attention. Therefore you do never taste the quality of the moment because you are engaged and occupied with something else which is not the actual moment.

Problems feed on attention. If you don’t pay attention to the problem, there is no problem. If you understand the situation as a problem you will have a problem. The beggar has no problems. The financial aspect of the life for him is not a problem. That is his own understanding. But for you the financial “downs” ARE problems because of your attention and understanding of it as such.

Mind is always ahead. Mind needs to calculate, interpret and interfere between you and the existence. It’s a survival tool. You will never survive without it. However if you don’t realize that it is only a survival tool you will miss the opportunity to taste something which is greater of the mind and that is vast collective consciousness.

The other thing is that you’re just a reflection of the opinions of others. Because you are what others think about you. You gather opinions, judgments and everything else which is around you and you create a picture of you according to the standards of the others, of the society. You are literately shaped by the other people around you. Your character, your opinions, your knowledge, your feelings and everything that you have is borrowed from others directly or through some kind of media.

If you move to another country and change your spoken language you will transform yourself to a totally different person. If you go back to your native country after 10 years everybody will be amazed how changed you are. Ten years of a whole new influence around you is engraving things on you without notice. But why is this happening? Wherever you go your essence stays the same. This is happening because in that country your mind was occupied with something else thus you became a new man. The essence is the same but you cling to this new man and you know only him not the real one.

So, you have nothing. You are not living your life totally aware, you create problems because if there were no problems what would you do, and everything that you have is simply false, not authentic, not yours. Only mind can be accused for what is happening to you.

Cheers, Vlatko

Hum, I came to talk about happiness. I don't know if my thoughts relate to what you have said, but this is what is on my mind....

I am caring for my great grandson, and this makes me very happy. I don't know why. I just know I am enjoying my time with him immensely. For severaly hours my mind has been with him, enjoying his reaction to the things I give him to play with, a walk down the bike path, a special video for babies, classical music. I didn't go to the garden that I enjoy working in. I didn't visit friends. I choose to do nothing but devote myself to my great grandson. Because I do this only day a week, each day with him is a delight. I don't think I would be so happy if I had him 7 days a week, with all the worries a young, single, working mother has. But each day I am with him, I wonder, why does this limited with him cause to feel such happiness, why?
