For those who like sports: which is your favourite? If you have more than one, just pick your top favourite and list the other ones in a reply post. :) For my reply, baseball is my favourite, but I like basketball almost as much, and I also enjoy American Football, Soccer/Futbol, Tennis, and, when it's actually on TV, rugby.

What you guys across the ocean call "soccer" is actually called football. And what you call football is actually called rugby, though you have obviously changed the rules. The latter is sort of "football for ruffians".

I suppose your poll is about what sports we enjoy to watch on TV, not about sports in which we enjoy to engage, right? Well, I don't watch TV.

The sports in which I like to engage (and regularly do) are mountain biking, jogging, and weight training. When I was younger I played several team sports, mainly basketball and handball (as well as a bit of football and volleyball), though I probably never excelled at any of those.

I also enjoy hiking, especially in mountain terrain, but unfortunately there isn't much opportunity for that in Thailand.

The only sport I actually watch with some sort of regularity is ice hockey. Other than that, I don't care for sports in which I don't participate.

Sports I enjoy engaging in include soccer (football), hiking, climbing, bowling, billiards, and I also had my competitive years in martial arts...unfortunately I don't have time anymore. Just recently, I have started to learn ice hockey a bit. Had to start from scratch as I didn't even know how to skate. Starting to glide on the ice pretty well now and my actual hockey skills are slowly improving. We'll see how it goes :)

Yes Thomas.
In Canada we see the European cultural influence and the American, and it is a little confusing sometimes.

Well, it is very much about location. Just because we call your football soccer and our football football doesn't mean it isn't true; just a matter of slang really. But, I specifically said, American football, and soccer can also be called futbol/football. And, British rugby is quite different is actually an entirely different, however similar, sport from American football. But, as I said, that is more a matter of location and slang.

Sure it's a matter of location. Since you lads are on the wrong side of the ocean, it's not surprising that you mix it all up.

Well, I am glad that you admitted speaking "slang".:rofl:
