If you are reading this, you've probably already noticed that thebigview.com forums look slightly different. I have replaced the old Invision Power Board with the new and shiny vBulletin software. There are many additional features such as improved searching and browsing, thread rating, tracking, WYSIWYG editing, etc. which I am sure everybody will enjoy.
While it was possible to import the existing user and forum data to the new forum software, some information is unfortunately lost. In particular, individual avatars and profile settings of each user were not carried over. Please edit your user profile, options, and subscriptions and make sure that these settings are sane. You will probably have to adjust many of the options and re-upload your custom avatars. While you are at it, you might also want to check whether your private message box is okay and delete any old messages.
Please post any further questions in the Help Desk forum.
Cheers, Thomas

Sweet. I must admit (from personal experience), IPB is probably one of the worst BB software systems out there.
But it's good to see an upgrade. :)

found the colors and the smilies but can't seem to add my signature though it shows up in 'preview'
The vBulletin board allows signatures, but it also allows you to decide whether you want to see signatures (of yourself and others) in the message display. This option can be found in User CP, Edit Options, Visible Post Elements. Without enabling the Show Signatures option, you cannot see your own signature.
Most users probably want to switch all visible elements on:
[X] Show Signatures
[X] Show Avatars
[X] Show Images

Been wondering how to do that!
Click on the link User CP (User Control Panel) on the navigation bar on top of the screen, or click on Quick Links and then on Edit Options.

How do you load custom avatars? Or is this no longer possible?
Surely possible.
Click on User CP, or on Quick Links, Edit Profile, then click on Edit Avatar in the Control Panel and select Custom Avatar. You can either upload the avatar from your computer, or you can hotlink an image that is already on the web. Save your changes. After that the avatar should be visible in the control panel.
To see your avatar (and those of others) in the message board area, you also need to enable the respective user option. In your User Control Panel click on Edit Options and find the Visible Post Elements Group under Thread Display Options. There you need to enable the Show Avatars option.
Note: This procedure is only necessary for existing users. New users have their default options set correctly.

New question:
It's not that big of a deal, but I miss my title: Soldier for Truth. Is there any way to change my "Senior Member" title?

the_aphid: It looks like the Full WYSIWYG Editing works fine in Firefox, however I still have only two windows in the Edit Avatar panel.
Okay sorry, my fault. Custom avatars should work for all registered users now.

Also, where can one locate the Forum Rules?
I have posted the Forum Rules as an announcement. Nothing has changed, except the user titles.
Thanks for your support in getting the new board properly configured. I'm glad you like the new functions.
