View Full Version : My Monetary Status

scameter

In my real life, i am extremely low on money right now. Currently, my dad has a total or $2 to his name, and i honestly don't know what we're going to do. He's trying to get a job, and hopefully be next week he'll get it and get a check soon after. And, my grandmother will hopefully give us some money. But if i am absent from the board for a time, be it short or long, know that either alot of stuff has made me busy, or they have shut my internet off. I...I'm just so tired. I don't know what to do. I don't care about much of anything anymore. But honestly i can't say that, because i do care about alot of things in life and i want to live, but if my dad kills his self or anything like that i will too, and monetary aside i will live with him until i am ready to get my own place. I just hope that things will pan out for the better soon. But, as a phrase i have learned to worship essentially says,"Don't worry, because nothing will be alright." :)

yeah hang in there man. give your dad as much support as possible. let him know if worse comes to worst youll be there.

it really pisses me off that people have to do without so much, and other people right beside them have more than they need for 100 lifetimes. the capitolist system, at least in the us, is ****ed up in my opinion. things need to change.

in the meantime, be strong. you guys will get through it eventually.

Well, i honestly don't think it will ever completely move on; it will always be a scar on us. But, hopefully we will retain stability again soon, and hopefully our monetary status will improve. But, not just the capitalist system but every form of economics, trading, money, and government, but especially the former 3, are completely unnecessary. They only cause an economical heirarchy, where some people are rich and most others are not and thus cannot truly live. They only exist one because people think they have to because of ignorance and conditioning and lack of free-thought, and two because people desire power above almost anything else, and money is a very easy to get it in droves.

Scam, I'm sorry to hear about your Dad's situation. Hopefully he'll find a job soon. Try not to worry about it, I'm sure he doesn't want you doing that.
Since it's Thanxgiving, concentrate on all the things you are thankful for. Maybe that will help get your mind off your troubles.
You & your Dad have each other, that's something to be thankful for. :)
Happy Thanxgiving, btw :)

I'm sure that it will improve. My grandma's helping us, and my dad's applied at like a million different jobs lol even at grocery stores where he has 20 years of experience but no-one seems to want him. It's retarded, but hopefully their minds will change. I know they will. And Happy Turkey day to you too. DON'T EAT TURKEY!!! lol

The Congo - Vachel Lindsay
A Study of the Negro Race

I. Their Basic Savagery
Fat black bucks in a wine-barrel room,
Barrel-house kings, with feet unstable,

# A deep rolling bass. #
Sagged and reeled and pounded on the table,
Pounded on the table,
Beat an empty barrel with the handle of a broom,
Hard as they were able,
Boom, boom, BOOM,
With a silk umbrella and the handle of a broom,
Boomlay, boomlay, boomlay, BOOM.

THEN I had religion, THEN I had a vision.
I could not turn from their revel in derision.

# More deliberate. Solemnly chanted. #
THEN I SAW THE CONGO, CREEPING THROUGH THE BLACK,
CUTTING THROUGH THE FOREST WITH A GOLDEN TRACK.

Then along that riverbank
A thousand miles
Tattooed cannibals danced in files;
Then I heard the boom of the blood-lust song

# A rapidly piling climax of speed and racket. #
And a thigh-bone beating on a tin-pan gong.
And "BLOOD" screamed the whistles and the fifes of the warriors,
"BLOOD" screamed the skull-faced, lean witch-doctors,
"Whirl ye the deadly voo-doo rattle,
Harry the uplands,
Steal all the cattle,
Rattle-rattle, rattle-rattle,
Bing.
Boomlay, boomlay, boomlay, BOOM,"

# With a philosophic pause. #
A roaring, epic, rag-time tune
From the mouth of the Congo
To the Mountains of the Moon.
Death is an Elephant,

# Shrilly and with a heavily accented metre. #
Torch-eyed and horrible,
Foam-flanked and terrible.
BOOM, steal the pygmies,
BOOM, kill the Arabs,
BOOM, kill the white men,
HOO, HOO, HOO.

# Like the wind in the chimney. #
Listen to the yell of Leopold's ghost
Burning in Hell for his hand-maimed host.
Hear how the demons chuckle and yell
Cutting his hands off, down in Hell.
Listen to the creepy proclamation,
Blown through the lairs of the forest-nation,
Blown past the white-ants' hill of clay,
Blown past the marsh where the butterflies play: --
"Be careful what you do,

# All the o sounds very golden. Heavy accents very heavy.
Light accents very light. Last line whispered. #
Or Mumbo-Jumbo, God of the Congo,
And all of the other
Gods of the Congo,
Mumbo-Jumbo will hoo-doo you,
Mumbo-Jumbo will hoo-doo you,
Mumbo-Jumbo will hoo-doo you."

II. Their Irrepressible High Spirits
# Rather shrill and high. #
Wild crap-shooters with a whoop and a call
Danced the juba in their gambling-hall
And laughed fit to kill, and shook the town,
And guyed the policemen and laughed them down
With a boomlay, boomlay, boomlay, BOOM.

# Read exactly as in first section. #
THEN I SAW THE CONGO, CREEPING THROUGH THE BLACK,
CUTTING THROUGH THE FOREST WITH A GOLDEN TRACK.

# Lay emphasis on the delicate ideas.
Keep as light-footed as possible. #
A negro fairyland swung into view,
A minstrel river
Where dreams come true.
The ebony palace soared on high
Through the blossoming trees to the evening sky.
The inlaid porches and casements shone
With gold and ivory and elephant-bone.
And the black crowd laughed till their sides were sore
At the baboon butler in the agate door,
And the well-known tunes of the parrot band
That trilled on the bushes of that magic land.

# With pomposity. #
A troupe of skull-faced witch-men came
Through the agate doorway in suits of flame,
Yea, long-tailed coats with a gold-leaf crust
And hats that were covered with diamond-dust.
And the crowd in the court gave a whoop and a call
And danced the juba from wall to wall.

# With a great deliberation and ghostliness. #
But the witch-men suddenly stilled the throng
With a stern cold glare, and a stern old song: --
"Mumbo-Jumbo will hoo-doo you." . . .

# With overwhelming assurance, good cheer, and pomp. #
Just then from the doorway, as fat as shotes,
Came the cake-walk princes in their long red coats,
Canes with a brilliant lacquer shine,
And tall silk hats that were red as wine.

# With growing speed and sharply marked dance-rhythm. #
And they pranced with their butterfly partners there,
Coal-black maidens with pearls in their hair,
Knee-skirts trimmed with the jassamine sweet,
And bells on their ankles and little black feet.
And the couples railed at the chant and the frown
Of the witch-men lean, and laughed them down.
(O rare was the revel, and well worth while
That made those glowering witch-men smile.)
The cake-walk royalty then began
To walk for a cake that was tall as a man
To the tune of "Boomlay, boomlay, BOOM,"

# With a touch of negro dialect,
and as rapidly as possible toward the end. #
While the witch-men laughed, with a sinister air,
And sang with the scalawags prancing there: --
"Walk with care, walk with care,
Or Mumbo-Jumbo, God of the Congo,
And all of the other
Gods of the Congo,
Mumbo-Jumbo will hoo-doo you.
Beware, beware, walk with care,
Boomlay, boomlay, boomlay, boom.
Boomlay, boomlay, boomlay, boom,
Boomlay, boomlay, boomlay, boom,
Boomlay, boomlay, boomlay,
BOOM."

# Slow philosophic calm. #
Oh rare was the revel, and well worth while
That made those glowering witch-men smile.

III. The Hope of their Religion
# Heavy bass. With a literal imitation
of camp-meeting racket, and trance. #
A good old negro in the slums of the town
Preached at a sister for her velvet gown.
Howled at a brother for his low-down ways,
His prowling, guzzling, sneak-thief days.
Beat on the Bible till he wore it out
Starting the jubilee revival shout.
And some had visions, as they stood on chairs,
And sang of Jacob, and the golden stairs,
And they all repented, a thousand strong
From their stupor and savagery and sin and wrong
And slammed with their hymn books till they shook the room
With "glory, glory, glory,"
And "Boom, boom, BOOM."

# Exactly as in the first section.
Begin with terror and power, end with joy. #
THEN I SAW THE CONGO, CREEPING THROUGH THE BLACK
CUTTING THROUGH THE JUNGLE WITH A GOLDEN TRACK.

And the gray sky opened like a new-rent veil
And showed the apostles with their coats of mail.
In bright white steele they were seated round
And their fire-eyes watched where the Congo wound.
And the twelve Apostles, from their thrones on high
Thrilled all the forest with their heavenly cry: --

# Sung to the tune of "Hark, ten thousand
harps and voices". #
"Mumbo-Jumbo will die in the jungle;
Never again will he hoo-doo you,
Never again will he hoo-doo you."

# With growing deliberation and joy. #
Then along that river, a thousand miles
The vine-snared trees fell down in files.
Pioneer angels cleared the way
For a Congo paradise, for babes at play,
For sacred capitals, for temples clean.
Gone were the skull-faced witch-men lean.

# In a rather high key -- as delicately as possible. #
There, where the wild ghost-gods had wailed
A million boats of the angels sailed
With oars of silver, and prows of blue
And silken pennants that the sun shone through.
'Twas a land transfigured, 'twas a new creation.
Oh, a singing wind swept the negro nation
And on through the backwoods clearing flew: --

# To the tune of "Hark, ten thousand harps and voices". #
"Mumbo-Jumbo is dead in the jungle.
Never again will he hoo-doo you.
Never again will he hoo-doo you."
Redeemed were the forests, the beasts and the men,
And only the vulture dared again
By the far, lone mountains of the moon
To cry, in the silence, the Congo tune: --

# Dying down into a penetrating, terrified whisper. #
"Mumbo-Jumbo will hoo-doo you,
Mumbo-Jumbo will hoo-doo you.
Mumbo . . . Jumbo . . . will . . . hoo-doo . . . you."

There's an odd one for you :o :D

Well we don't have thanksgiving here in Aussie, i dont know if that is good or not? perhaps another capitalist ploy to squeeze money out of people?

Also Asheera all of your posts are works of art, i won't go into the details but lets just say that every on of them are quite beautiful to read, simple and straight to the point, none of this manners ethics mumbo jumbo

this year i'm trying not to promote too much buying in Christmas time, they have already started the ads for Christmas Sales it is so stupid yet the marketing is brilliant but unfortunate to see such thinking going to waste on the greed of companies and promoting the power of money in society.

btw Scam i am reading the Tao of Pooh very good simple easy book to read, such a relief to read like an oasis in a desert i am wandering in search of something. i just wish that more people read this and that if they are going to teach intelligent design then they should also teach the philosophies of taoism.

Glad you're enoying the Tao of Pooh, Smurf. I like that book too. :)
As for Thanxgiving well, ostensibly it's a day to give thanx, so that would be a good thing. Unfortunatly, for many folx, the day has deteriorated into a day off work to pig out while watching football, so that's not so good. As for squeezing $ out of people, the stores run big sales around Thanxgiving, so food is cheaper around that time than during the rest of the year, so I don't know if they're really squeezing $ out of folx or not. Thanxgiving is a food holiday, btw- there's no presents or gift giving, or anything like that.

As for Xmas shopping, don't go to big stores. For the past several years I have been promoting alternative Xmas shopping, which basically means support the little guy. Shop at smaller stores that have 1 or 2 proprietors. Or go to craft shows &/or co-op shops to get unique, handmade gifts. I don't know what the flea markets are like Down Under, but up here where I live there are several where you can get brand new never-been-used/worn merchandise perfectly suitable or gift giving. The vendors have their spaces fixed up just like mini-boutiques, & as I said, the stuff they're selling is brand new. One of them even has a pretty decent pet shop if somebody wants to get their kid a pet for Xmas. Anyhow, the upshot is to buy from these folx, who are trying to pay the rent & put food on their tables, & not from some big corporate store.

Smurf
28th November 2005, 01:00 PM
lol thanks for the explanation of thanksgiving, and your alternative to xmas shopping in big stores is good and keep at it , but i think that the problem lies in the uneducation of the common person. they are like sheep and the multi-nationals are the shepherds. it is very sad to see my race stoop to these levels.

scameter
28th November 2005, 10:59 PM
Oh good Smurf, i'm glad you're enjoying it. And i agree that Taoism should be applied if ID is to be too, but i think that philosophical thought should be encouraged completely always, because to me it is one of the most human things we can do: wild, easy, free contemplation, observation, and speculation. I love it. :)

lol Actually smurf that doesn't sound bad at all. Very good actually. :D And i'm glad to hear that; but don't limit yourself. Live, find your own experiences. Also read some more on Taoism, and also on Zen and Buddhism. I wouldn't reccomend reading much of Confucious, but you can if you'd like. scameter
2nd December 2005, 09:53 PM
That's exactly how it is supposed to be Smurf. Taoism is not some dogma, not a religion(unless it is wrongfully made into one), not a code; it is merely a description of life. :)

Smurf
3rd December 2005, 06:13 AM
yay :D :D well it's me. oh and news finally , you know about bahai thingy stuff?, well they are finally building a place of learning in Tassie! now i can finally go somewhere and contemplate. it is gonna be sooo cool there is gardens and pagodas and awesome stuff oh awesome

scameter
4th December 2005, 04:25 AM
Well that's good. But don't limit your contemplation place to just there; contemplate everywhere, all the time. You know, i was reading a samurai book once and it was talking about the samurai's way of life and that they should have a balance of activity and calm. That if outwardly you are doing stuff then your mind should be calm; and if you're not doing anything outwardly then you should be thinking actively. I found that to be very interesting and correct. :)

Smurf
5th December 2005, 05:01 AM
oh yeah i agree totally but it is easier to achieve this state of calmness in gardens and quiet of the country, oh yeah i forgot to mention i live on a farm with at least 5 acres of garden it is truly a beautiful place and i am truly grateful to live here. :D

scameter
5th December 2005, 10:41 AM
Well actually previously you did say, in the neural awareness topic, that you could make your dad on his tractor look behind him to see you when you were far away inside. I did kinda gather the farm-living thing. :D But i see what you mean. I love gardens. I tihnk i've told about this before but one time i went on a trip to Tennessee, particularly Cades Cove, and there, behind the old mill, there was this perfect little alcove of wildness. It was where a tree had fallen over a small creek, creating a small waterfall. I don't know what it was, but it took my breath away. The brisk, misty air clearing my sense, the moutains around, my beloved family with me; i could've stayed there forever. :)

scameter
10th December 2005, 05:10 AM
From who's viewpoint?

Smurf
12th December 2005, 01:11 PM
Well i believe that the "education" process is just focusing too much on the acquiring of knowledge that people do not know what to do with it you know?

so i want to begin a place of peace and wisdom, free from any religious or cultural ties. people can go to it and think, or seek help, if they need calming down, or they are seeking wisdom.

what do you think?

scameter
13th December 2005, 11:55 PM
That sounds good. And, if you wish, you could aslo promote physical training for mental discipline, as well as pilgrimidge to other places, no Holy place specific as they are all Holy, but merely free-thinking, free-spirited travelers. As is said in a poem, "To be a sailor of the world bound fro all ports." :)

Smurf
14th December 2005, 11:49 AM
yes yes! ohh it would be so great

but you would get the whole Human being judgment on different things shit  you know like: " oh this guy's doing this don't go there just because it's different" very annoying

but it would be so nice, as i said before no religious ties or anything, people could come and discuss their ideas, problems etc in peace and lots of music! :D

But people's want and ability to do bad, as according to our conscience(not conscious mind you), it derivitve of thought, which is natural, no matter what those antithought and antilogic people may say. Not that logic is our only faculty which is a point I often stress, mainly to logicians, but logic is just as naturally here and naturally important and functional as intuition and instincts. If it was unimportant and not meant to be here or to occur, it wouldn't be here, simply! :)

MidnightSun
1st January 2006, 04:32 AM
Yes yes, i see ur point. Its our natural instinct to be first and take a lead of anything. We're animals afterall...Althought u can learn to control urself, minds, body, insticts as well..wish i could do that. Boy, i would love it!

scameter
1st January 2006, 11:25 AM
That you can, and I guess the question of it's naturality, that control I mean, isn't in any doubt because it is possible and so exists, which anything that exists does so naturally as there is no other way to exist, for existence it's self, as an verb, is natural. lol Quick thinking. :D

MidnightSun
1st January 2006, 03:49 PM
Oh, and my grammar appreaciates it asheera ;)

Even if this life is an illusion as buddhists say and is meant to only die from by going deep inside ourselves until this dreams fades away with everything else, it still exists as a dream/illusion and this is important. If for no other reason than to be lost in one's death as they pass away from this dream into the nothing consciousness of nirvana, this plane still has a purpose, a texture.

interestng, since joining here i have been called a christian, atheist, Zen Taoist and a buddhist. but i am just me. nothing else. i understand the nothing consciousness and do not fear it, but cannot all of the religions be combined as one in some way?

scameter
5th January 2006, 01:34 AM
Yes they all have similar roots, but are not combinable as I said elsewhere recently.

Smurf
5th January 2006, 09:08 AM

Honestly, I have no problem with Christianity; on the contrary, I like many aspects of it. But, it's the people, very particularly the church, I despise. They have corrupted it into a buisness of money and hypocrisy, using parts of the Bible they like as a grudge to get money and sympathy out of people. It's very sad.

deepakgang
7th January 2006, 05:28 PM
church and others should stop being playing mediators or agents of god. They just have to help people and stop ruling

scameter
8th January 2006, 12:36 AM
The Church shouldn't exist, simply. It is a corrupt buisness or ritual. In Osho's "Zen" book, he says that no wonder people don't like going to church, it has become a Sunday ritual to go in and praise something you know nothing about, just to gain prestige. To say "I went to church today, so I'm Godly." It's sickening.

scameter
13th January 2006, 12:29 AM

scameter
13th January 2006, 11:49 AM
:o Y-you called me sweetie? Wow...I never thought I'd hear you call me that. Mainly because I wouldn't expect you, from your viewpoint, to say such a nice thing to someone like me, who hasn't been incredibly nice to you.

14th January 2006, 01:58 AM
Thanks psyche. That's sweet of you. :)

And, I think you're physically right deepak, but the question needed there is Why is that so? Why do people compliment? Is it to make themselves, nacissisticly, feel better, or is it really out of compassion for another?

WilliamMckeehan
16th January 2006, 08:37 AM
 i do it out of compassion of others

deepakgang
16th January 2006, 02:34 PM
scam- tats a good point.

When we are complimenting dear ones, its a matter of both- We really wish our dear one to feel happy. When he/she wears a new dress, or when wins a match. We care for them.
When they are happy we also become so. That may be the underlying reason.

If I am complimenting you now, it may not be because I wish you feel nice. It may be because I want you and others who read my compliment to feel nice about me. And it will be reflected in you replies. You will defenitely say something good about me in future. So i may be securing that. Not that I am calculating all these- it may be what going deep inside my brain when Im typing a compliment to you.

WilliamMckeehan
17th January 2006, 11:59 AM
thats a very interesting thought maybe thats why we all do it ?

scameter
18th January 2006, 12:47 AM
It's really a matter of choice. I've learned that the underlying reason, mainly from my dad, isn't the only reason; that the appearing view is the culmination of all that is underlying and outerlying in us. Even if compliments given are done out of a selfish reason, our selves are still apart of the entirety of human selves in existence, and thus by complimenting someone, as long as your choice reason is compassion or respect, it is done for that reason, even if it makes you feel better too. :)

scameter
18th January 2006, 02:36 AM

i like to help people and make others feels good i have a problem to some times really care about others feelings even if they treat me like crap but i like to make others happy i enjoy it but some times i do feel it when i dont get the respect that i give oh well

scameter

You said right there that I did not feel or think that "seemness". I never said that. I said I do not know what I think or know, it's just what I said.

I give you my best wishes. It will be a good experience though. It will build your chraracter, make you stronger- after all "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"
Try anything that is availible. Why not write some articles for a news-paper?

If it is any consolation, which I don't think it will. Our family endeavoured to cope with my father's mental illness. He also had sever depression. When I was young, I never saw him. He spent all his time sleeping.
I made me a stronger, more enlightened person. Dispite me experiences. I never often speak of it.

Yes me too Venus, and I possibly could do that. I write alot of stories and poems myself. :)

And, psyche, I'm not trying to argue nor do I wish to. I can't you what I meant by "right there" because I don't remember, so if you would like we can drop this entire argument? I don't like fighting, especially with a friend of mine such as yourself. :)

Venus

I write poetry. I'm also going to write a book.

scameter
24th January 2006, 01:58 AM
:) Oh, what book is that?

Venus
24th January 2006, 02:11 AM
It is a sort of fact-fiction book about Atlantis. My way of expressing my theories, not just on Atlantis. I have not really started yet. I'm just a little uninspired and busy.

scameter
24th January 2006, 02:17 AM
:) Sounds good.

Speaking of Atlantis, I don't remember it entirely but my theory on it is that Atlantis was an entirely different race of homosapiens, but entirely closer to perfection. In their brains lived a different kind of chemical or electrical allowance for intelligence growth, and within a century of their civilization they were 5 times that of our current society. They went into space, bulding on various planets and the moon (which would explain the water marks) and then eventually went to the rest of the world. The reason they couldn't get there earlier was because they prefered to focus entirely on their civilization before going to another Earth land. But, they then taught the natives (such as the Egyptians, Native Americans, and Europeans) secrets of technology, but nothing too grand; they didn't want those native becoming more intelligent and advanced, or even advanced at all, than them. They helped them to build the Sphynx, the pyramids, Stonehange (which involved astronomy) and the pyramids of South America. But then, their intelligence overwhelmed them, causing a massive brain eruption in all of them and killing them simultaneously and instantly. The island to which they called home, with all it's various technologies, then, being unmanned, caused a massive flood, causing all the technology and the island it's self to sink. :)

Venus
24th January 2006, 02:41 AM
That's one of my main summerised theories. I think the Nephilim could have been either hybrid decendants like the story tells us or that they purely desended from the Atlantians. The story tells us that angels decended from heaven and taught us how to write, read, ect. And bore children with the daughters of man. I think the Nephilim were Albinos- due to the description. I think the Atlantian- wether pure or not- still exist...

Venus
24th January 2006, 02:44 AM
Also there was an article on it on a website about it in the Northen Sea. People say that Britain was once a part of Atlantis- Stonehenge?

scameter
25th January 2006, 09:13 AM
Hmm...in my theory, they're somewhere in the very far south of South America, which honestly I don't know why I made it there lol But I did. I guess because it was rather far away from even the South American native tribes. :) It's all very interesting, and I'm glad you enjoy it. :)

Smurf
25th January 2006, 02:42 PM
they're somewhere in the very far south of South America, which honestly I don't know why I made it there lol But I did.
  interesting theory, considering there is a lot of historical evidence pointing towards the north middle atlantic? the supposed place actually lies in a fault line that is connecting to three others i think? that could cause a lot of destruction enough to "sink" an island.

you heard of Krakatoa? the big huge volcano near Sumatra Indonesia blew up and the sounds could be heard miles south in Perth western australia! the actual island blew up and left no trace, a huge tsunami insued killing lots of people. not good.

perhaps some correlation between the two?

Venus
25th January 2006, 05:09 PM
That's why I "headed up North" Smurf. I believed Atlantis was modern day Mexico city.
I believed that when Atlantis was destroyed, the surrivors fled to different parts of the world-
South America, North America (Like Mexico and parts of Canada) Britain/Scandanavia, Iceland, Antartica (I belive Atlantis could be either a part or all of Atlantis) Cuba, Greece, Israel and Egypt.

Hay- looked what happened to Ankor Wat? Perhaps they "polluted" the island/continent, destroying themselves like we are doing now- history repeats its self- it is a natural process.

My mother believes that the Atlantians sank the place deliberatly.
That there were aliens and bestowed us with lore, infomation and unique abilties- just like the Angels/Nephilim did- I think they were the same people. I think the Atlantians were huge, albino people.
When they dicovered that we/apes were primitive- they sank the place to prevent inquisitiveness- if we/apes found out too much we would destroy ourselves because we could not comprehend it. We could be a hybrid race of apes and aliens or perhaps atlantians...

I could go on and on and on and on about my different thoeries...

The answers are around us. We just need to translate it...

Venus
