I know that there is a difference between philosophy and theology. that theology is the study, relatively philosophically, of religion and religions, and that philosophy is philosophical, rational, and inquisical thought into various topics. but, is that all? or is there more?

Scameter,

I think it may be a good idea to open an encyclopedia (such as wikipedia) and look up the definitions, before you pose a question like that, because the answer is almost already contained in the definition.

Theology (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theology) is not the study of religions, that is more commonly called religious studies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_studies) or comparative religion (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparative_religion). Religious studies are secular while theology is not.

Theology literally means "reasoning about God" (theos+logos), wheras theologians typically render an inside perspective on the topic of God, i.e. a view from a position inside a belief system, such as Christianity.

Cheers, Thomas

so then, most theologians take the view of Christianity as their own, but too often in your opinion?
