so? that is not perverted. for the time is was just normal, and in the customs of that land. believe me, of all the atrocities that have been done and are still being done, that would be the least artocious one on my list.

after taking a day through the streets of his city and seeing all the horrible suffering and death around him as he sat on his high throne oblivious to all things else in his kingdom, supposedly more important than they were, whereas they were he, hs kingdom, life.

Darwin married his cousin as well.
For most of recorded history, kings married their nieces in order to create a clear line of secession and of course in ancient Egypt Pharohs often married their sisters.
Some interesting statistics here:

Can i ask something about that? Why is it that current people see that as such a gross and intolerable concept?

Learnt a new word today. Munificent. That's what the English language is in terms of vocabulary. Very munificent indeed. 500,000 bloody words. Will I ever cope?

The story of the life of the Buddha's is highly symbolic. Though it is impossible to separate historical facts from legend, we know that the gentry and noblemen of ancient India frequently dedicated themselves to the arts, philosophy, and/or religion. A similar tradition is still alive in Thailand.

Cheers, Thomas

To me, the story of Buddha has a nice moral- You seek what you lack....
And about cousins marrying each other. I don't mind... after all we are all related, we're all humans! I don't think there is anything wrong... Love is never wrong in its pure, uninhibited form...

What about closer family marrying, like a father and daughter, or a mother and son, or a brother and sister?
