I was thinking last night, and perhaps Taoism stretches even into the world of science and reality, not just in the mystical side that most spiritualities do. maybe everything in existence is neutral in meaning, not lacking meaning mind you, just neutral in it, having meaning in and of it's self, but not characterized meaning like we place. but then, humanity places either passive or aggressive meaning into it, distaste or adoration, but that is not what gives it meaning, for it already has meaning however neutral. humanity placing meaning into something merely makes it alive to the individual person. essentially, anything that an individiaul human has ever seen or comtemplated that person has given an opinion to it, either negative or positive, and even though that thing already had neutral meaning, that individual gave it meaning into life by making it either positive or negative. but, that thing, say a diamond, cannot be alive(not in the literal sense) unless two individuals give it meaning, one negative and one positive in any amount, amount being irrelevant. that diamond by it's self is still absolutely neutral, which is why that say a gun can never be seen as bad or good completely, because inherently it is neutral. individual humans just give it differentiated meaning to bring an appearance to it, an illusionary meaning. and, this principle is not just in meanings; it is also in physicallity. everything has a negative and a positive and a neutral. everything in existence, except maybe the particle, which may i'm not really sure. but, everything else assuredly does, as is characterized even by the most minute thing in existence, the atom. it has negative electrons, positive protons, and neutral neutrons, all necessary to the atom's existence, with neutrallity in the center, as it's heart, keeping it absolutely in existence, the other two imparting more concreteness to it, like armour. i hope i'm making sense here :)
