To me, Humans view technology in a too relative sense to us. we think that they are similar to us, but if we could just realize that they just do things, that a cause causes a certain effect, then i think we could be even more advanced than we are now.

they ?
computers?

if we could just realize that they just do things, that a cause causes a certain effect

cause and effect - our actions are also a reaction to situations beyound our control.
We evaluate the information that is give to us and respond.
We are (however much we disslike it) under conrol of some form.

The difference is individuals react in different ways. technology reacts in a pre-programed responce.

But i am sure that different technologys have varying responces even if the end result is the same. (and even the same technologys give different results depending on the situation or programing)

They evolve (under our control (for now)) changing to accomodate our needs. we evolve as a responce to our changing environment.

There are many things that we have in common but technology does not have (as yet) Beliefs, opinion, discression, feelings......... and many other things including (not that we can prove) a soul or conciousness.

We already have nowhere near the memory recall capabilitys of a computer. My computer has an 80gb hard drive (not exactly huge). but I cant remember what I did last week. my processor processes this information at 1.5ghz (witch is comaritivly slow).
The internet contains (or would eventualy contain given enough time) the sum of human knowlage.

i think we could be even more advanced than we are now.

I think in many ways technology is already more advanced than we will ever be.
I am afraid of when (not if) technology is capible of realising this.

Eventualy in the not to distant future a computer will ask itself:
I know everything, I see everything, I control everything, What am I??????????

Technology ... :o it is growing FAST and people are getting VERY attached to it .. its horribley sad specialy when i say i am one of thoughs people maybe some day i will change that?

but anyways i think Technology is going to get better so much better we evolve with it ... somthing like nano bacteria fighters or somthing in us i dont know... it will probably keep helping humanity ...but we will be so consumed by it we will lose are natural roots completely =( and that sucks

i agree completely, and as am i. this computer is essentially my life, but also is nature, books, and my spirituality, so i am not near as technologically controlled as the majority of the populus, and i never will be as i will not let myself be. if i didn't have this computer i would be fine, but i don't know if i could do it without a sewer system
