When I began studying the history of education, I knew we had begun imitating Germany, so I began studying Germany, and had no idea what a can of worms I was getting into! Charles Sarolea's 1915 book "The Anglo-German Problem" blew me away!
Following the 30 Years War that devastated Germany, the Germans wanted nothing to do with war nor the difficult task of uniting a Germany torn apart by Protestant and Catholic fighting. Exhausted and fearing their neighbors such as France would take advantage of their weakness, they allowed Prussia
to take control.
Prussia lived for a love of military might, as the citizens of the US lived for a love of God. Let us include Deist who do not accept the bible as God's word, but saw democracy as the way of God, in this love of God.
Prussia, applied military order to citizens, and this is what makes things like Social Security and Worker's Compension possible. It also is not the family order that the democracy from Athens depends upon. Effectively, we were the Athens of the modern world, and Germany the Sparta of the modern world, until we used public education to become the leader of the New World Order, that is the same New World Order we defeated.
Prussia, centralized public education, destroyed Germany's heros and began praising effeciency, and left moral training to the chruch. Please, notice following the 1958 National Defense Education Act, we stopped transmitting our culture, adopted education for technology for military and industrial purpose, and left moral training to the church. We detroyed our national heros and began praising efficiency. This is a huge value and cultural change, some of it good, but not all.
We also adopted the German model of bureaucracy when Roosevelt and Hover worked together to design Big Government, with all its control over industry and social programs, Fascism. This could have been more good than bad, if it had not been for the education that goes with this New World Order social order that destroyed our family order.
Anyway we come to Richard M. Fricknew, M.D.'s book 1943, "Is Germany Incurable?" He defines paranoia as excessive need to be superior and in control. I am saying the United States is suffering schziod paranoia.
Eisenhower warned us of the military-industrial complex, and Reagan and the Bush's have strengthened it. Bush's "Shock and Awe" attack on Iraq was made possible by imitating Germany in more ways than I already mentioned, and Buddhism may get individuals to a good place, but it will not protect our children and grandchildren from the horror we thought we defeated.
