Its been a longing in my mind since my birth, whether past life is true or not.

Richie, I must tell you what happened several years ago:
Some 10-12 years ago, early 90's, I started to paint a mountain. Didn't like the way it was going so I put the canvas up. A couple years later, in 1995, I was looking around for something to paint & I pulled out the partway-done mountain painting, & began working it over, so that eventually it became Vesuvius Blows Its Top & took a red ribbon in a local art show. All the while I was working on this piece I got the feeling that I was painting the erupting volcano & the pandemonium in the foreground while looking over my shoulder &/or running backward. At one point, when I was trying to see thru the smoke & haze in my mind's eye to draw what I saw on the canvas, I realized that I was trying to remember what happened, which is odd becuz this happened some 1900 years ago & I don't go back nearly that far (or so I thought) Nevertheless, when I realized that I was trying to remember the eruption & ensuing events, I chilled, got into a Zen zone, & let the memories flow onto the canvas, & created a 2nd place prizewinning painting.
Several months after taking the ribbon, maybe early 1996, one of those cable channels, Discovery, TLC, whatever, ran a documentary about Vesuvius narrated by Kathleen Turner in which the following points stood out for me:
a) I can draw many things, but straight lines are not among them. By the time I noticed that the buildings were off kilter, it was too late to fix them without the painting looking doctored. But I decided the finished piece would be so busy that nobody would notice the buildings were off kilter unless it was pointed out to them. According to the documentary there were earthquakes along with the eruption & they knocked buildings off kilter.
b ) somebody, upon viewing the painting (which has a black background) snobbishly pointed out that Vesuvius blew up around noon. I replied that I didn't care what time it blew, it was dark. Pliny the Younger, who witnessed the eruption from a boat, said that Vesuius threw up so much soot & ash the sky turned pitch black.
c) the only volcanoes I had seen were pix of Mt St Helens & some Hawaiian volcanoes spewing up orange embers, like fireflies over their tops. I painted something like a nuke coming out of my volcano. I decided to leave it that way as my commentary on the Bomb. The documentary ran Air Force footage of bombers flying over Vesuvius during WWII. What was coming out looked like they had dropped one of their bombs into it. On the other hand, maybe that's what they did.
d) I had never seen Vesuvius- not even a photo- until I saw this documentary. All the while I was painting the volcano, I kept wanting drag out the left side of it towards the edge of the canvas. I resisted becuz I had painted this nice even volcano & didn't want to destroy the symmetry. Towards the end of the documentary they the showed a long shot of Vesuvius- & the left side was sloping out asymetrically! Now, once I sign a painting, that's it. I don't mess with it any more, certainly not after it's taken a ribbon. But when I saw Vesuvius on TV sloping on the left side, I got out my paints & painted it sloping to the left, as I had wanted to do all the while I was painting it! Only time I ever fixed a signed & supposedly finished painting.
And that is my past life story. Honest to god!
ps since I got online I check out Vesuvius cam from time to time, so I've seen it quite a bit since making that painting :)

Past Life is definately True to my consent.....
I have been studying books related to Past Life..whether its true or its just a make-belief situation where everyone accepts and few declines...
There are many such instances i have been across or rather read about.....which made me believe PAST LIFE do exist

I have done a research and tested myself.....
Try this following steps....u might be able to get some info on your past life...
1. switch off the lights in your room
2. shutdown all means of disturbances
3. take a object in front of u.... (make sure you have enough light just to see the object) - a glass object preferrable
4. concentrate on the object......let your body lose u...
5. soon u'll start feeling very very light and u'll feel there is no gravitational pull...
6. the moment you feel that...close ur eyes....u will definatly see a particular scene or object or to very precise any matter...... that matter which u see first when u close your eyes is the matter with which u were closely associated in ur previous life.....
In my case i saw a person whom i have never seen before.......and whenever i try this (again and again) i get to see only that person....
I dont know who she is... as far as my knowledge i have never been across such a person in my life since my birth
Believe it......U should

I can recall quite clearly an 'incident', when my daughter was only 5 years old, she was riding on my shoulders, while we were taking a tour of an Inuit museum. We were standing in front of a display of various tools, and images of their use, when one of the guides, an old Inuit woman, came up beside us, and asked if we had any questions. I was about to say, "Not at the moment, Thanks" when my daughter, Chloe, spoke.. in perfect Inuit. She said something (that i cannot hope to write down accurately) that caused the guide, to step back startled. She then replied, in Inuit, and then my daughter laughed and the guide laughed. She was about to just turn and walk away, when i stopped her, "What.. What just happened? What did Chloe just say? How.." i would of kept stammering questions of ignorance, but the guide stopped me by saying " She just asked me how it is that [we] are in boxes, and not in [our own lands]." Then the old woman winked and walked away, leaving me quite dumbfounded. When i asked chloe what happened, and how she could speak like that, she just giggled in her usual manner, and pointed to a food stand and said "hungry!"
I should mention, that chloe was, vocally, a slow learner, and at that time couldn't say much more than a few single words and phrases.
chloe is 15 now, and has no memory of the event, though she had learned to speak quite well, and like most young girls, never seems to stop talking.
Myself, I ahave often had dreams, where an entire normal day in my life, goes by, but often one small thing, some times signifigant sometimes not, is different. When i wake up i have to check the calander to be sure if that day actually happened (in this lifetime) or not.
The last aspect that Completely convinces me of past lives, is frequent dreams of an ancient battle, under the leadership of Alexander the Great. This dream is so absolutely real, and happens identically every time, beginning with Alexander giving a rallying speech that creates such an incredible adreniline rush amongst the entire troop, as hordes of enemy soldiers are pouring over the hills towards us. He finishes the speech, turns and addresses me as captain, and then leads the charge into battle. The entire fight goes on with such clarity, that i am convinced beyond a doubt that i was there, right up to the point in which i am mortally wounded from a spear, where I wake up, drenched in sweat, gut throbbing, heart pounding, and adreneline still pumping through me. The dream isn't in english, but in latin or whatever language, that i don't understand a word of afterwards, (except captain), but while it is happening, i can understand it clearly.
If i close my eyes, i can still remember the sounds and the smells, and if i concentrate on it, my gut soon starts to throb in the same spot.
Past lives? Without a doubt.

jesupocaplypse,
Why would anyone believe your unsupported stories?
Next you will talk about alien kidnappings.
Do you really think that because you claim It is true that therefore It is true?
Why do you misunderstand 'truth'?
Religious nonsense is built upon 'your kind of reasoning',
give me a break!!

Excuse me? I joined this board thinking this would be the last place where people would be so low as to attack the arguer, and not the argument. or in this case, A simple sharing of experience. I come on here and share, and get attacked... childish to say the least.
A. Why should any one believe what I say? beats me. I certainly am above caring about such pettyness. I doesn't make the slightest difference whether anyone believes me or not. Though i don't quite understand why it should matter. Any fool could jump up and shout "I don't believe you!" throughout this entire topic. Unsupported, hah. Of course a dream is unsupported. How can you really have a discussion or a sharing about past lives and expect anything different? As to the story about my daughter, I don't understand. Maybe it WAS all in my head. maybe i imagined the whole thing. It didn't seem like it. and it was the first time i ever had any sort of past life experience (albeit, observationally) outside a dream, but what do i know about my life, you don't believe me, i must be wrong. I'll go check myself into the psych clinic now.
B. What exactly does alien kidnappings have to do with anything here? .... 'Next' your gonna start attacking me about bad grammer, or misspelled words... jeesh.
C. Where or where, did I claim anything about truth? or claim that something is truth. I mentioned that the dream is absolutely real.. perhaps i should of made a more thorough explaination, the DREAM is so convincingly real, FEELS so real, unlike normal dreams of mine, that while it is happening "i am there". No i don't think that because i claim something to be true it is true. Truth is in the eye of the beholder. i KNOW it to be true, because i Experienced it. If you don't believe me... fine. go right ahead kid, makes not one bit o difference.
D. Perhaps OH WISE AND ENLIGHTENED ONE! you'd care to fill me in then, Explain Truth to me, since You must know for sure, if you can claim i misunderstand. What have i misunderstood? although i made no comment or mention of truth... you seem to posess the abilitiy to probe across the world, into my mind and learn what i think, so correct me then, and don't insult me.
E. Religious nonsense... where does that come into play? My kind of reasoning... WOW. you seem to have great powers indeed if you have such a grip on the way i think and reason after only a couple posts.
Cripes. I join a board hoping to have intelligent, thoughtful discussions with mindful, Mature people, and I'm subjected to the Stone throwings of a self righteous jerk. Thanks. I appreciate it. Did it make you feel good? all warm and gushy inside? must be nice being perfect. But I'm gonna cling to the hope, that not everyone here is as pathetic as you are, or perhaps you just had a momentary lapse in judgement, and your not just a full of himself 12 year old getting kicks out of trying to insult the new guy.

Hum, I didn't see anything said of time being a dimension, and that our sense of reality is limited by our perspections, which may be incomplete.
Personally, I have an impression of past incarnations.
However, I question if this validates the reality of reincarnation. Our minds can be such tricksters.
But I have a spiritual need to be connected with all humanity including past humanity, and with concern for the future. What if we are in the Resurection? Anthropologist, geologist and related science are bringing the past into the present. Reincarnation could be another way of resurrecting all who have lived. What if we all share the same past and future, and our future were determined by our shared consciousness? Can humanity come to peace with its past and its present diversity?
