When I was born the National Motto was E Pluribus Unum

When I was born the words 'in god we trust' were not on currency.

When I was born the Pledge of Allegiance said "One Nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all". (now,...One Nation, Easily Divisible----Just Add Religion)

When I was born my government did not endorse religion, but now "sends a message to unbelievers that they are outsiders, not full members of the political community, and an accompanying message to adherents that they are insiders, favored members of the political community."

When I was born my parents said "be not a hypocrite who loves to pray publicly and on street corners that they may be seen and heard"...Matt 6:5.

When I was born there was no Drug Testing.

When I was born my government did not advocate of corporate welfare for the rich and Trickle-Down Economics everyone else.

When I was born the motto of the VA was "to care for them whom borne the battle", a quote from Abraham Lincoln.

When I was born there was no thinning of the ozone, skin cancer was not a concern, and the President did not say that trees cause pollution.

When I was born there was no 'road rage', drive-by shootings, nor faith-based hate driven conservative talk shows.

When I was born, my Country did not illegally and unilaterally invade others.

Etc., etc., etc.

I was born in 1953, and my America, the America of Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine, Ben Franklin, John Adams, etc., does not exist anymore.

There was a song in the early 70's whose lyrics went something like:

"America, where are you now, we can't fight alone against the monsters...don't you know, we need you now..."

I was born on the last day Reagan was president. Bush Sr. was inaugurated the next day. And Kurt Cobain was living in Olympia and Nirvana had not yet recorded a full-length album.

Obviously the world turned to shit when you were born, Vicente. Rather, because you were born.

No,...just the America of Jefferson, Franklin, Paine, etc. Just the America whose Motto was E Pluribus Unum,...which is now (as of 1956) In God We Trust,...an illegal, unconstitutional endorsement of Abrahamic monotheism. Anyone who does not agree, is an anti-America.
