Hello, my name is Fiona and im from Australia and im currently in my last year of high school. Im completing a project for one of my subjects called "society and culture" and if anyone could answer a few questions for me that would be really helpful. These questions are not meant to offend anybody and if they do i apologise. Please answer the questions in detail and honestly. Your answers will be confidential.
1: What religion were your parents?
2: Were they active participants in this religion?
3: Do you feel you are as active in your religion as your parents were?
4: Was your decision to participate in this religion a conscious decision or recognition of your parents belief system?
5: How do you feel that your religion is represented in society today?
6: Do you think there has been an increase in participants of your religion
7: Why do you think there has been an increase/decrease in your religion?
8: Why do you think there has been a decrease in religion generally?

1: What religion were your parents?
Christian branch of the Abrahamic lie.
2: Were they active participants in this religion?
Like other American Sheeple, unfortunately yes
3: Do you feel you are as active in your religion as your parents were?
absolutely not! At some point I decided that honesty and integrity were more important.
4: Was your decision to participate in this religion a conscious decision or recognition of your parents belief system?
there was no decision,...the beLIEf system was forced (hook or crook),...not much different then how Justinian, Theodosian and Gregorian laws forced beLIEfs and intolerance on reason.
5: How do you feel that your religion is represented in society today?
the religion of my parents is a cancer/virus upon the Earth, and responsible for most of contempory Humankinds atrocities and suffering due to "their mission" to convert the world to their dishonest, hateful point of view.
6: Do you think there has been an increase in participants of your religion?
Yes. Since what is called the McCarthy Era in America, Rightwing Christian hate (anyone who "missions" for that beLIEf) has grown dramically, till now, most citizens are media-ted (indoctrinated) into Christian filth in every aspect in of their lives
7: Why do you think there has been an increase/decrease in your religion?
people are afraid of the honesty and truth, so they cling to the invented beLIEfs of their parents for their identity,...even if they switch so-called denominations. Judeao-Christian-Islamic filth is all one filth, arising from the Abrahamic religion.
8: Why do you think there has been a decrease in religion generally?
Only in Europe have I heard of some decrease in religion. If this is so, look to Europe to be the guiding light towards honesty, integrity, truth and the evolution of Humankind.
In America, we remain One Nation, Easily Divisible----Just Add Religion

jg, welcome to BV :D
1: What religion were your parents?
my mother WAS a catholic, and i think she still bears the scars of their mental conditioning from childhood, and father IS (claims to be) a buddhist, tho not sure what flavour, or if he's a certified (so to speak) member of any church...
2: Were they active participants in this religion?
my mother goes to Mass to remember her father's and mother's deaths, but not regularly, and father doesn't appear to do more than skim the surfaces, has more of an intellectual interest, to my biased eye, anyway :D
3: Do you feel you are as active in your religion as your parents were?
feel am probably more active in my religion than my parents ever were voluntarily...
4: Was your decision to participate in this religion a conscious decision or recognition of your parents belief system?
my eclectic collection of beliefs and practices is surely influenced by my parents, and felt like a conscious decision... but also not the same practices and beliefs.
5: How do you feel that your religion is represented in society today?
most of the traditions i draw inspiration from have their places in society
6: Do you think there has been an increase in participants of your religion
not sure, seems to be more free thinkers around now, than when i was younger
7: Why do you think there has been an increase/decrease in your religion?
more free thinking people, or at least, more people seriously trying to find answers,,, or maybe i'm just noticing it more
8: Why do you think there has been a decrease in religion generally?
i don't

Dear Fiona,
The Thermodynamics of Hell I received in an E-mail. Since most religions teach us about Hell, its Thermodynamics of that place, may be of some interest to you:
THERMODYNAMICS OF HELL
The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington
chemistry mid-term exam.
The answer by one student was so profound that the professor shared it with
colleagues, via the Internet, which is of course why we now have the
pleasure of enjoying it as well.
Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic
(absorbs heat)?
Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law which
states that gas cools off when it expands and heats up when it is
compressed, or some variant.
One student, however, wrote the following :
First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need
to know the rate that souls are moving into Hell and the rate they are
leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell,
it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving.
As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different
religions that exist in the world today. Some of these religions state that
if you are not member of their religion, you will go to Hell.
Since there are more than one of these religions and since people do not
belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell.
With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls
in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of
the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the
temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has
to expand proportionately as souls are added.
This gives two possibilities:
(1) If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls
enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until
all Hell breaks loose.
(2) If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in
Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.
So which is it?
If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year,
that "...it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you", and take
into account the fact that I still have not succeeded in having sexual
relations with her, then No. 2 cannot be true, and thus I am sure that Hell
is exothermic and will not freeze.
The student received the only "A".
