Hello!
For those of you who know me. Howdy do!
For those of you who dont know me. Howdy Do!
and for vicente... :P
Well, it has been a long semester. Symbolic Logic, Buddhist Philosophy, and Philosophy of Mind have left me spent...
Soooooooooooo i thought i would just pop in and see what was happening.
And to my shock and surprise i see that nothing has changed. Geez, dont you people ever change your views or is this whole rut thing become so comfortable that you can possibly work free?
Little minds discuss people and things.
Large minds discuss ideas.
Slayer, i am looing at you ...
Vicente you kooky bastard, i would have thought an opened minded feller like yourself would know better than to celebrate the destruction of anything...your dualist side is showing, quick, post something that proves how right you are so i can bask in the glory of your stupendous triumph over the evil Christians!!!!!!
(Note i never said i had a large mind.)
Rich, how hangs the hammer old friend?
And to any i have missed or forgotten, and more importantly to those who i will enjoy making merriment of and trading on-line jibes with....lets keep the fighting clean :boxing: and try and expand our pathetic human minds just a little.
Remember, Trus Wisdom lies in Knowing that we know nothing.

Actually,...Wisdom lies in Gnowing we know nothing.
Knowledge is always in the Past. The Past is neither real, nor part of "Thyself's". One cannot "know thyself",...only the "not self" is known through knowledge.
Neo-Christianity is about knowledge, that is, the Past. Thus, no Christian can ever realize what is real, what is true, what is Now. Realization is an impossibility for Christians.
Gnothi Seautin means Gnow Thyself,...not Know Thyself. It is said that when the Greeks spoke of Mind they pointed to the chest and said 'thymos'. Knowledge is in the head, the intellect, the self that most "think" they are,...not who they actually are.
know\no, v. knew, known, know-ing, knows; OE gecnawan, be able to;
akin to L. gnovi. 1. to perceive directly through the senses;
comprehend through the intellect. 2. to have fixed in the intellect
or memory, something as true. 3. to be acquainted with or have a
practical understanding of, as through sensory experience; know how
to cook. 4. to comprehend noologically; through thought/intellect.
gnow\no, v. gnew, gnown, gnow-ing, gnows; from Gk gnosis, knowledge
of spiritual matters. 1. to understand directly through metasensory
awareness; comprehend through the heart of essence. 2. to experience
unmedia-tedly, something as true. 3. to be acquainted with or have
gnostic understanding of, as through metasensory experience;
to gnow love. 4. to comprehend ontosophically; through wisdom/gnosis.

For those of you who dont know me. Howdy Do!
Howdy Do to you too!
Little minds discuss people and things.
Large minds discuss ideas.
Why make a distinction?
People, things, and ideas are inseparable. A discussion about anything is an exchange of ideas.
Remember, Trus Wisdom lies in Knowing that we know nothing.
Know Thyself.....then when you realize what an ass you are it is easier to change.
Beautiful contradiction! Did you intend it?
Thyself changes. The subjective difficulty of the change is irrelevant.
How have your classes changed you?

Hello Pamela,
How have you been? You'll forgive me for not respoding to your latest post, but I don't visit this forum much anymore. Just the same, I wanted to see if you had put some questions to me.
I see Mental Midget has made a canonball splash into the pool of ignorance.
What's amusing is that makes a display of what he's studied, which he somehow thinks make him a good philosopher or reasoner, only to prove how little he's learned.
Look, watch me be more credible than Mental Midget: Oh, look, I have a ba in philsopophy from a top university and I graduated with honors. I've taken symbolic logic, advanvanced symbolic logic, several classes in metaphysics, epistemology, philosophy of mind, philosophy of language, philosophy of religion, Ancient philosophy, Medieval philosophy, Modern philosophy, and I tutor philosophy majors at UCLA and local city college students on occassion to earn some extra duckets. Wow, I'm full of myself, therefore I'm a good philosopher.
Hey, Mental Midget, way to let your poor reasoning skills do your talking, as Pamela was correct to point out. Uhm, there is no knowledge but know this..... Nice!
Oh, I see that this isn't the forum that you asked your questions, Pam. I'll get to those next.
sincerely,
slayer

Random Thoughts,
Oh, you don't know how much joy reading your post brought me! I am especially pleased that you found the need to call me a "dumbass" over a misspelling. I won't be disingenuous and claim a typo, because I thought "duckets" was slang for money. So if I misspelled it, or if it's not slang, then a thousand apologies. Yet I know that to jump on me, and me especially, for this spelling error is just your way of expressing your frustration over the many posts in which I've exposed your utter stupidity. You suffer from what Nietzsche would call ressentiment .
So, please, feel good about yourself for once. Feel like you've put me in my place. I won't deny you this. I am human after all, so I couldn't deny you THIS. Woe is me, Random Thoughts has exposed my....uhm....spelling error.
He can't find any other faults, not because I don't have any, but because he's too inept to notice them. Keep up the watch, Spell Checker. I'll show you mercy this time and not point out your numerous spelling errors and grammatical clusterf**ks!
Can't thank you enough,

yeah I noticed that about that site- no linx to fotos...or anything. Have you tried using the search engines at your local newspapers' sites? If you noticed, all the stuff about the pigs comes from one of our newspapers- The Enquirer. I was able to get the link I posted by doing an msn search, but if that had been unsuccessful, I could of gone to The Enquirer site & used their search engine to pull the info. CityBeat too, probably.

Hey there Hi there Ho there
slayer,
a more psychologically minded fellow might be inclined to think that your little fits are the result of past trauma which makes you want to act out in a way thta is meaningful for you but has no real consequences. So you flame people online in ways that you never would in the real world for fear of having your, as they would say in the vernacular, "ass whupped". I think you are a sad sad little man. Are you really that threatened by me telling people i have chatted with before what i have been up to?
Congratulations on your scholastic achievements, maybe one day your maturity level will advace as well.
and please spare me and the rest of the grown-ups your fit, i have kids and i hear all the whining i need to from them.

Mental Gremlin,
Why the chicken-shit clause "a more psychologically minded fellow might be inclined to think that"? It's obvious that you think what you put into the mouth of this fellow. Be proud of your pop psychology at least.
Lets review all the pop psychology cliches you bless us with.
1) Past trauma. Oh my, what trauma? Did my daddy beat me? Did I get bullied as a kid? Perhaps I was an orphan? You're truly a master of psychology.
2) I only dare talk to people this way online because anonymity is safety. Wrong. I challenge people when they make ridiculous claims. Nice speculation on your part though. I wonder how many of us could make the same charge against any others here, considering that the vast majority of us don't know each other in real life? Hmm, sounds like an argument from ignorance.
3) In real life I wouldn't talk like I do here because of fear of getting my ass whupped. Why would you attribute this fear to me? What if I told you that I am a former marine, physically imposing, and have never feared challening people's opinions? Would any of these facts matter to you? Of course not. Nothing could sway your masterful diagnosis.
Listen, Mental, why don't you stop making logical fallacies. This way no one will point them out and laugh at you in the process. Also, stop with the pop psychology -- it's laughable. Furthermore, at least be brave enough to endorse your diagnosis as your own, instead of hiding behind gaybob phrasing as "a more psychologically minded fellow..."
You're a mentally limited person, which is why you're bothered by my critiques -- because they're accurate.
So, please, spare us all your poor reasoning, bad speculations, pop psychology, and your defensive admonishments for me to spare you my fits. You'll not be spared my fits so long as you continue to express stupidities.
ever maturing,
slayer
