Who Is To Say?
There is no heaven ?
There is no hell ?
There is no God ?
There is no Nirvanna?
There is no Reincarnation?
Or vice versa?
Can any say with certainty, there is or is not no 'anything' or 'whatever' your mind thinks of/about?
Really, there is no one who can actually give you an answer,
to any of those questions that is absolutely true.
No one really knows.
Any can think they know, as well as me thinking, "that no one can give you an answer".
Any of us can "think" we know, but do we?
However, as long as anyone's belief/religious persuasion, or not having any does not harm others, and brings you comfort by filling a need in your life, continue travelling on your way as you do.

Hi richie, I've heard it said that there's 4 categories of people:
dems that don't know who don't know they don't know,
dems that don't know, but know that they don't know,
dems that know but don't know that they know,
and dems that know and know that they know.
Methinks this may be a 'valid' classification system in relation to some items or kinds of 'knowing' and 'knowledge', with the same people falling into different categories in relation to other items of kinds of knowing and knowledge.
I'm witchoo when it comes to your 'classification system', however -- i.e., that no 'single' seat of consciousness in space-n-time qualifies as being all knowing (except, perhaps, somehow knowing 'unconsciously', whatever that means). At least, that's the 'fundamental' hypothesis I personally operationally espouse.
But , I may be 'wrong' to do so - WHO KNOWS? :lol

David S,
Your avatar certainly had me fooled.
Thought it was an actual photo of you. But by browsing through the avatars, the picture of your avatar appeared as Richard Feynman. Maybe, will try to take my photo via Logtech
camera, mounted on top of my computer., if i can get a decent picture.
Just wanted to get the point across, referring to my previous post, the Porgy and Bess song,
It Ain't Necessarily So.
many religious leaders should heed its message. :)
but, IMBW.

Yes - that not-'me' - or at least not a totally 'true' representation of 'me' - only 'symbolically' true - though it is so 'natural' looking, I thought that maybe someone would think it was (of 'me'), as you did.
Here's a 'really true' (or whatever the heck it is - it could also be 'viewed' as 'symbolic'!) represention of 'my' 'incarnation'
Please note: the 'word-art' part of it was the 'spontaneously' planned and executed 'creation' of someone else, who was 'playing' with a joke-story, deriving from an 'miraculous' 'happening' story (one that was totally un'planned' and certainly not intentionally executed) which I had shared in that forum.
Thomas, if you think this is too 'risque' to be displayed here, feel free to delete the post, or let me know via email and I will do so pronto.

A belch is just a gust of wind,
Coming from the heart,
But when it takes a downward course,
It is generally known as a _ _ _ _.

I think it is very considerate of you to perform "one-with-wind" meditation outdoors. But hey, I would be more concerned about actinocutitis and rattlers if I were you. B)
Nice place you have there.

Who Is To Say?
Well, those who say no one knows because they don't know, are merely deceiving themselves. Just because most don't know, doesn't mean anyone doesn't know.
There is no heaven ?
The heaven of the Abrahamic Religions cannot exist, because the Abrahamic Religions can be proven to be false.
There is no hell ?
Same thing,...since the Abrahamic Religions are false, their invention of hell is equally as false.
There is no God ?
There has never been one thread of evidence that any god(s), be it monotheistic, deistic, polytheistic, pantheistic, etc., ever existed. Does that mean there is no god(s)? It is so highly likely, especially considering contemporary quantum physics, that no god(s) ever existed, and as such, if one was to be honest with themselves, they would not believe such a story was true. http://www.abarnett.demon.co.uk/atheism/wager.html
There is no Nirvanna?
Yes, there is sufficient evidence that Nirvanna is true.
There is no Reincarnation?
Yes, there is sufficient evidence that some form of reincarnation is true.
Personally,...although the US Constitution says there should be no prohibiting the free exercise of religion, I say that children under 17 (NC17) should be restricted from all churches, synogogues and mosques,...just as they are from pornographic films, taverns, cigarettes, drugs, driving cars, being allowed to vote, etc.
Then, within one generation, all those belief orientated questions can be adequately addressed by a majority without those theo-beliefs, and without the theo-indoctrination that the Unknown cannot be known, just because religious leadership are not able to know.
"the ego uses the body to conspire against your Mind (in this context the Mind has no relation to intellect), and because the ego realizes that its 'enemy' (the Mind) can end them both (ego and body) merely by recognizing they are not part of You (the Mind), they join in the attack together. This is perhaps the strangest perception of all, if you consider what it really involves.
The ego, which is not real, attempts to persuade the Mind, which is real, that the Mind is ego's learning device; and further, that the body is more real then the Mind is.
No one in their right Mind could possibly believe this, and no one in Their 'right Mind' does believe it" ACIM

please tell me more about demons, and how to defeat them? :o
Are the demons you speak about, within one's mind/brain,
in the formless form of thoughts?

Dog Godess: but there are demons rich.
Indeed!
I am professionally involved in dealing with demons. I get paid for it. Some of them demons I know are "Cron", "Bind", "Inetd", "Klauncher", "Smtpd", and "Squid". Cron is a regular guy, easy to deal with, as he pops up at regular intervals. Klauncher only lives for a few seconds during which he invokes other demons. Squid is more phantom-like, a useful negotiator, although some find him sinister. The others display various degrees of beastliness. Inetd, for example is very hard to control and therefore dangerous. Smtpd and Bind are also very nasty and incredibly difficult to tame. Only a true demon master should get involved with Bind. It belongs to the group of monsters than span the globe. Great competence in the arts off masquerading and firewalling is required to deal with these guys.

Confused Polaris,
Think that the demons Thomas is writing about, are probably nomenclature for the peculiar behaviors exhibited by computers,
when they decide to behave like hell/Hal , just to annoy the person who thinks he is control of the keyboard. :D However, I could be wrong.

OIC! Thanks Rich.
I think computers should come with a target painted on the side so you know where to aim when you swing your foot. Should come with wheels too, so they are easier to haul out to the curb on garbage day. ;)

Exactly.
For a moment I thought my previous post was a bit too nerdy. In the Unix group of operating systems, to which Linux belongs, service programs are called "demons" for a reason that is unknown to me. The designation is fairly apt considering the difficulties one encounters in configuring and managing them. They control company networks, Internet connections, industrial production processes, among other things. "Squid" for example is a proxy server software, "cron" is a scheduler, and so on.
Polaris: I think computers should come with a target painted on the side so you know where to aim when you swing your foot.
I partly agree. Unfortunately, these darn computers remain remarkably unimpressed by violence.

Are you talking about "perception is reality" in the sense that what a person or group believes to be true is what guides their actions, regardless of whether or not the original perception was accurate?
