Registration
Registering with thebigview.com is easy and only takes a few minutes. Registered users can post messages to the board, participate in polls, read profiles, and have full access to all other features of this discussion board.
To register with thebigview.com, you need a working email account because thebigview.com validates registrations via email. If you use a free email account such as Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. please be aware that there may be problems with sending email to you. These problems often arise from exceeding the free quota on your email server or from email accounts that expire automatically. If such problems persist, i.e. if emails sent by thebigview.com keep bouncing, your account on thebigview.com may be deleted. Therefore it is important to use a working email address.
Rules of Conduct
In order to participate in thebigview.com discussion, users must agree to certain rules. These are short and simple:

- Do not complain about orthography or grammar in other people's posts.
- Do not post facts or quotations without a reference to their source.
- Do not post in ALL CAPS.
- Do not edit your post after it has already been responded to.
- Do not post large images or other things that mess up the forum's table alignment.
- Do not post using an excessively large custom signature (no more than a few lines, please).
Privacy
Your privacy is respected and safeguarded by thebigview.com. Your email address and your personal data is kept invisible to other users, unless you choose to disclose it. Passwords are encrypted so that they cannot be read by anyone, including the server maintenance staff. Of course, we encourage you to disclose some information about yourself, such as your name, your hobbies, your location, etc., because this makes communicating with you more meaningful. Choosing a face avatar -an avatar with a real picture of yourself- is also considered a nice gesture. But then again, it's up to you... None of this is required and you may remain completely anonymous if you wish.
Multiple Accounts
It is not possible to create multiple accounts with the same email address. Please do not create multiple accounts unless necessary. Thebigview.com records IP addresses for each account at the time of registering and with each message posted. The IP address is the identification of your computer, or respectively the computer you use to connect to the Internet. IP recording is a safety feature designed to prevent abuse. Please note that IP addresses are published on thebigview.com in order to avert flooding, impersonation, spoofing, etc.
Member Titles
The discussion board system assigns member titles automatically according to the number of posts you submitted to the board:
000-014 Posts = Newbie
015-049 Posts = New Member
050-249 Posts = Member
250-xxx Posts = Guru
Once you have reached the Guru rank (250 Posts) you can assign any title to yourself by editing your profile. That is if you don't like being a Guru.
Best Regards,
Thomas
